HOLA!
What
a roller coaster week!
This
week a cool thing happened... I got to spend some time in Tupungato on
exchanges.... with HERMANA BLAIR (one of my best friends from home). It was
such a good time! So cool to share this experience and see how much we both
have grown! She is an incredible missionary and has always been such an
example!
This
week we finally tracked down a lady we had talked to a while ago, and had a
cool experience. She has a rough family and has investigated a lot of churches
but just isn't sure where to go. After the opening prayer she was just
really quiet and said... "Look..." and showed us her arms full of
goosebumps. She said she felt so much peace. My testimony of prayer grew so
much, it truly is such a blessing and invites the spirit so strongly. She told
us she felt something truly different... we told her... that's the spirit :)
Silvana
and Alan (mom and rockstar 8 yr old son) are doing so well. In fact this week
Silvana accepted a baptism date and all three of them came to church... which
was such a happy thing. Alan is working miracles in his family. Every lesson
with them I just admire his faith and testimony. This week in our closing
prayer he prayed so humbly for mine and Hermana Guzman's families... so
precious.
This
week we had a couple trials of faith....four of our progressing investigators
dropped us. Selene who was doing so well, has decided to stop investigating.
And another family that is SO amazing, a dad with two adorable daughters who
were SO interested and asking about baptism! It was hard for us to see how
within literally 1 day they changed so drastically. It was so sad for me.. to
watch them reject something that I personally know will completely CHANGE their
life and bring them so much happiness. I imagine it is just a small portion of
the sorrow our Heavenly Father feels when we don't follow his perfect plan for
us. But that is where Agency comes in... what is His plan without agency? We
are all free to choose. He can't make choices for us and I can't make choices
for my investigators...We are all free to choose. This week I was reading in 2
Nephi and came across this simple scripture...
"Wherefore
cheer up your hearts and remember that ye are free to act for yourselves- to
choose the way of everlasting death or the way of eternal life..." (2
Nephi 10:23)
I
love it. I truly am so grateful for the gift of agency. The gift we have to
CHOOSE our destiny. Sometimes it's hard for me to remember how crucial the
simple concept of agency is to the plan of our Heavenly Father. I am grateful
for my right to choose! I have learned so much this week and know that the Lord
has a personal plan for all of us and everything is in HIS timing :)
